O+P

We just got a sneak peak of a mini O+P shoot that my good friend and awesome photographer Rebecca did for us while Fallon was down for my baby shower!  Just wanted to share a few of my favorites from her blog.  I can't wait to see the rest!!!

I have my maternity shoot on April 10th; I'm anxious to see what Rebecca will have in store for that!

a little bit of THIS and a little BIT of that

After some very LONG hours we finally bought a couch (it was seriously worse than purchasing a car)  How many different ways can we tell you that we don't want the EXTRA protection plan PEOPLE!?!!?!!?!  We should be able to pick it up this Saturday.  It will be so nice to have something to sit on after two weeks of sitting on a pile of blankets.
FYI...hardwoods are H A R D on your tushie no matter how many blankets you pile up!
We also scored several pieces at the antique market.  [We love this antique market, if you are ever in the area you should check it out.  There are two buildings and the one across from the Home Depot is the good one! The other building is a bit like a museum, you can look but can't really touch that table for EIGHT grand...heheee

We finally got our beloved coffee table.
LOVE it
We got this one for a real deal! After being quoted six hundred for the first one we found; we scooped this one up for $185 at the booth right around the corner...That my dear is one of the joys of the antique market!  You can compare prices without ever leaving the building!

Next up we have our lovely end table.
This was hand made by Southbend Millworks.  We have been stalking admiring their stuff since we found them WAY back when we thought this was going to be our front door.  Since that didn't work out (and we are SO glad it didn't) we had to postpone our furniture buying!  We were so happy to finally make a purchase from them.  They are going to be doing a custom piece for us for the living room as well! More details on that to come.

The finds didn't stop there.  The dream daughter also found a few things she couldn't live without.  This chair is PERFECT for school
and this will help put a dent in some of the thousands many bags laying on her bedroom floor!
Plus this is the color scheme (minus the hideous blanket in the background) I would like to do in her room after I find her a vintage armoire and dresser!!

This weekend we will be attending another antique market.  We haven't been to this one in a while so we are stoked.  I am really hoping to score a very LARGE vintage sign for my living room wall.  Preferably metal, rusty and a little dirty.  Hopefully next week we can do a big reveal!

Extreme MakeOVER

SO for the first time ever, against my better judgement...I purchased something from ROSS.  I try to steer clear of any stores like this because I don't like the chaos.  I like for stores to look pretty and everything to be in it's place.  This so DOES NOT fall into either of those categories.  But apparently those things it lacks allow items to be CHEAP!  And seeing as how I am in PLAN B mode, CHEAP means more mullah for said plan!! YIPEEE!!

SO at the above mentioned locale I was able to purchase a few things.  One is my new love, one is for organization and the final is for the dream daughter herself.

I purchased this

because every dream daughter needs one of these for accessories (as if this is going to hold a fraction of her collection)

However, BLACK is not in her color vocab.  Hence the makeover...

Okay it wasn't extreme but we like to be dramatic.

But seriously some paint and a tutu later, it's the best thing to hit Davis Place in a hot minute!
Next to my new love which deserves its own post (of course it doesn't need a make over), it is perfect just the way it is!

D R E A M D A U G H T E R...gotta show her off

Recently I had the dream daughter's pictures made.  We braved the FREEZING cold weather and took the shoot outside.  I love always trying to support people I know who are GREAT at their "side jobs".  (Isn't it sad that most of us can only use our talents as side jobs...but I guess that's a post for another day and another glass of wine!)  With facebook and blog world these days it's so easy for people to showcase their talents.  That's how I found out a girlfriend from high school was doing the whole photog thing!  Brooke did an amazing job and you can find her on fb and on the web!

One of the BFF girls was with us so we got a few of these cuties together...seriously how sweet!

And if you are like me and just seriously dying over how CUTE this dress is, it was made by another mommy who has loads of talent too!!  She did this for me in like 2.2 days...SERIOUSLY she's fab-o!

I am thrilled with my pictures.  THANKS Brooke for creating memories that I can cherish forever!  These pictures are priceless!!

p.s.  I did not receive any discount, hugs, or kisses to tell you how much I LOVE these mommies, I just really think they are fabulous and their talents should be shared with others!

T.G.I.F.

Whenever it is quiet in our house, we immediately go looking to see what the Dream Daughter has gotten into.  As she gets older we usually find her playing school in her art room/school room or playing with her castle, not tearing down the house like she used to.  But the other night Dream Hubby and I were cooking (yes we do cook occasionally) and we realized she was being very quiet!!  So I quietly crept  into the living room to find her watching TV in this get up! She is always in dress up mode and I love it!!  She created this one all by herself!  She's such a fashionista!!

We hope you enjoy your weekend!  The holidays are upon us big time and I know everyone is super busy!  We have several holiday parties to attend this weekend!!  Which makes for a very busy weekend, but I am sure it will be worth it!

Happy Friday! -fd

T.G.I.F.

This was just purchased for our home collection.  We watched it last night as a family...the dream daughter loved it...and so did I.  Every princess needs this one in her collection.

go GIRL!

We love to support other creatives here at O+P!  Even better is other GIRL creative types!!  Recently a friend of mine decided to make a go of it and become a licensed illustrator and venture out on her own!  I think her designs are just wonderful and I just know that she is going to be famous one day!  She now has her own blog, web site and an agent...how cool is that!
I will also mention that she does a really cool series on her blog called "illustrate your event" in which she asks for people to let her know what they are doing over the weekend.  She randomly selects one 'event' and does a custom illustration!  So when we headed to Disney, I submitted our little adventure to her and she picked it!  Now the dream daughter has a great personal keepsake of her fourth birthday!  As soon as we receive it in the mail it will be going in her art room!  To add to her collection of inspiration art work...one day she will be able to scribble wonderful things, I just know it!

You should check my friend out on her website, follow her blog, or 'like' her on facebook.  Follow her adventure to becoming a successful illustrator.  She was just picked up by Luvali to design a custom line of  fabrics for their hand bags!  GO LEZLEE we at O+P are pullin for ya!

the STUFF dreams are MADE of

Halloween is just around the corner!  I love Halloween and all the fall decor that comes with it.  One of the best parts of Halloween is getting to dress up!   Of course this is right up the dream daughter's ally!  She loves to dress up and would wear a tutu every day if I allowed it.  And let's just be honest about that...I would let her if she had enough!
This year we spent the dream daughter's birthday in Disney World.  I knew we would be dining with the princesses, so I went on the search for the perfect outfit!  I didn't have to go far, one of the lovely mom's from play date sews and makes all kinds of magical things.  I told her what I was looking for which included 'something princess but outside the box'!  In no time she had whipped up the dream daughter the PERFECT dinner attire that can also double as a wonderful trick or treat costume!

Perfect match

Could the back be any cuter!?!?!?

This was the perfect outfit for our little princess!  If you are looking for dress up, Halloween costume, or any other custom pieces for your princess...check her out on her website and on facebook (make sure to 'like' her page)!  and tell her O+P sent you!

babycakes has no idea that I am writing this review, did not discount my costume for a good review..I really LOVED her product and think you should check her out!

Bibbidi Bobbidi BOO!

I am officially back from vacation!  The dream daughter brought us right back to reality with her very first slumber party!! That's right...a slumber party, with SEVEN four year olds!  I guess Disney is the happiest place on earth, it sent me back home with an excellent attitude to think I could handle those girls!  The girls did great considering they are all of FOUR and FIVE years old!  I have lots to post about everything that went on including the dream daughters fourth birthday party (because the week long celebration in Disney wasn't enough), some pictures from vacation, an awesome Halloween costume and a really cool custom illustration! Here are a few pics to hold you over!

A little glitter

The dream daughter is always begging to do an arts and crafts project.  This usually becomes a major clean up because she always needs glue, glitter, beads and buttons!  So when she found out that Aunt Jess was going to be in town for her 30th birthday, nothing was going to satisfy her until she had made Aunt Jess an arts and crafts project.

I decided on a frame but the dream daughter gets to decide on everything else including the picture.  First she painted the frame, then she glittered it [and my bedroom floor- not a good project to do on the carpet]

followed by a few scrap booking stickers including Aunt Jess' favorite, an owl.

I think it turned out just beautiful and Aunt Jess was pretty excited about her new work of art!

Time Flies...

Try to be the first one up the mountain,

The highest flying dreamer in the sky.
Try your best to be an inspiration

For others that are still afraid and shy.

Try to make the most of every moment
If you fail, get up and try again.

Try each day a little harder

If you never try, you never win.

KIDDIE ART

At least once a week I try to let Phoebe do some type of arts and crafts project.  She loves to dig through all of my art supplies to see what kind of treasures she can find.  She carefully selects each item all by herself, the only help I give her is with the glue gun.  This week she picked out the following...

One really big straw hat,

some fruit, flags and a table cloth fit for a picnic.

 Add a few golf balls,

put it all together and what do you get...

A Fourth of July picnic hat and one happy little chick!
We love kiddie art around our house and it has supplied a few wonderful pieces of decor.

More one of a kind pieces from Phoebe Mae to come!
