D R E A M D A U G H T E R...gotta show her off

Recently I had the dream daughter's pictures made.  We braved the FREEZING cold weather and took the shoot outside.  I love always trying to support people I know who are GREAT at their "side jobs".  (Isn't it sad that most of us can only use our talents as side jobs...but I guess that's a post for another day and another glass of wine!)  With facebook and blog world these days it's so easy for people to showcase their talents.  That's how I found out a girlfriend from high school was doing the whole photog thing!  Brooke did an amazing job and you can find her on fb and on the web!

One of the BFF girls was with us so we got a few of these cuties together...seriously how sweet!  

And if you are like me and just seriously dying over how CUTE this dress is, it was made by another mommy who has loads of talent too!!  She did this for me in like 2.2 days...SERIOUSLY she's fab-o!

I am thrilled with my pictures.  THANKS Brooke for creating memories that I can cherish forever!  These pictures are priceless!!

I finally came across a nursery that I love.  I've been searching for inspiration pretty much since I found out I was pregnant and the pictures below are the first ones to really do it for me:

Thoughts:

1. This nursery is bigger than my living room, so obviously I can't really swing this exactly, but.....

2. I like all of the different fabric patterns

3. I'm wondering if I can recreate that drapery over the daybed in the pic over baby's crib...or incorporate something similar into the closet  design???

4. I like that there's alot of color in this room, but it's still "neutral"

nurseries

I vowed not to buy any more {besides a couple of things I just had to get} girl stuff for the nursery until we find out the sex, which by the way is now scheduled for January 5th!!!  I was at an estate sale and passed a mirror that would fit perfectly on a 42" wide wall in the nursery.  It was definitely feminine, so I kept a walkin'.  It was $10, so you know it was hard to pass up.  As I was looking at these little flowery plaque things for $2/ea deciding that I should certainly put them down until after the 5th, the lady that worked at the sale let me know that everything was 50% off.  So, the mirror and flower plaques were paid for and loaded up = $7.  Pics to come soon...

Anyways, I'm totally obsessed with nursery and baby stuff and it is torture trying to "just look".  A little light internet surfing for color inspiration and I found these...wanted to share:

I have been going back and forth on putting a twin bed in the nursery, but I decided against it :(  I do love the basket storage under the crib.


Is the the cutest bed skirt or whaaaaa?!?  I think they need another accent color besides yellow, but I love some elements of this room.  I really like doing something with the ceiling cause that's what the poor kid will be looking at a majority of the time.  Love the antique dresser as a changing table and that looks to be framed book pages which is def of my "things to get" list.

I wonder if Drew would be up for converting the closet into a little changing area like this complete with wall covering, art and lighting???  O.M.G.!  I LOVE IT.

I'm going to go draw up the closet plans now ;)

In seach of two matching bookcases to flank either side of bean's crib,  I stumbled across the cutest site, Cottage & Bungalow.  The prices aren't exactly right, but these pieces below are hot!

T.G.I.F.

Whenever it is quiet in our house, we immediately go looking to see what the Dream Daughter has gotten into.  As she gets older we usually find her playing school in her art room/school room or playing with her castle, not tearing down the house like she used to.  But the other night Dream Hubby and I were cooking (yes we do cook occasionally) and we realized she was being very quiet!!  So I quietly crept  into the living room to find her watching TV in this get up! She is always in dress up mode and I love it!!  She created this one all by herself!  She's such a fashionista!!

We hope you enjoy your weekend!  The holidays are upon us big time and I know everyone is super busy!  We have several holiday parties to attend this weekend!!  Which makes for a very busy weekend, but I am sure it will be worth it!

the OFFICE

MY office is finally complete!  However it is dark here by the time I roll back home so I can't get any good pictures, so I thought I would share a few "in process"!

The office is very neutral so we decided to add color with the desk.

We went with an orange that was left over from an old Bronco that Dream Hubby painted.

Couldn't be happier with the way it turned out!

Of course that is my bulletin board finally on the wall.  In the background you can see my fav new bookshelf!  I found it in an antique shop in Senoia...if you haven't shopped this little town you are totally missing out! 

That's all I have for now!  We have changed from cable back to dsl and I have lost and found my "thing" that allows me to upload pics to my computer!  SO hopefully there will be more to come!!

First baby purchases

This weekend I finally made my first purchase towards the nursery; can you believe I waited that long!?!?  Since the doc said at our 12 week appointment that this baby could be a girl....and I was in the right store at the right time..........and happened to stumble upon the cutest lamps I've ever seen.........I had to buy them.....right? 

I know you may not see what I see {these puppies with possibly gold shades flanking the crib on the top of  42" high bookcases}, but at $10 a piece, how could I go wrong? 

So, I guess I broke the seal with these.  I mean, I know I can't buy all sorts of girl stuff until the beginning of January when we find out for sure, but....................

when you see a clock like this for $4.99 that would look oh so cute in a bookcase.....

tee hee.  I measured and drew up plans for the furniture arrangement tonight.  I might just take a peek this Saturday at a few of my favs to see if I can find any furniture.  Gender neutral furniture ;)
